Brooke Emerson, a seventeen-year-old high school senior who is attractive and popular, is the envy of her classmates and even some of her closest friends. Brooke, on the other hand, has never felt more alone than she does right now. An uncontrollable wrath is what she suffers with since a cheerleading stunt injury last year left her with concussion-like symptoms that she can't control. Her seemingly flawless existence is in jeopardy, no matter how hard she tries. This feeling of acceptance and understanding doesn't come to Brooke until she meets an attractive and fascinating stranger, Jake. Although she wants to get caught up in the romance, she can't shake the feeling that something isn't right about their relationship. The death of Brooke's best friend forces her to turn to her new love for support, but Brooke is terrified that she might be the one responsible for her friend's cruel killing.
