It's about young black people in Newark, New Jersey, which is supposed to be the "car-theft capital of the world." New Jersey Drive was made in 1995 and is about young black people in Newark. It's what everyone in their neighborhood likes to do: steal cars and go for joy rides. People start to get into trouble when they steal a police car. The cops then launch a violent offensive that includes beating and even shooting people who are suspected.
