Cassie works in a pub where she is uncomfortable and lonely, and she is depressed. When she informed her lover that she was expecting a child, he abruptly dumped her. After multiple failed suicide attempts, she had given her baby up for adoption - a decision she now regrets. The stage technician Riley is introduced to her when a theater group from Los Angeles visits to the little hamlet of Buckeye. Discreetly, he begins to court her... she is smitten with him, but she is still still in love with her ex-boyfriend Billy.
