Normal people demonstrate tremendous fortitude in the face of lunacy.... On the 13th and 14th of November, 1990, a lone shooter wielding a high-powered semi-automatic rifle entered Aramoana, a small New Zealand beach hamlet, bringing with him a wave of madness. A handful of under-resourced and under-armed local police officers risked their lives trying to locate and rescue the terrified and befuddled residents while he pursued his prey for nearly 24 hours.
