Pelle the Conqueror

Towards the conclusion of the nineteenth century. A boat carrying Swedish exiles arrives on Bornholm, a Danish island. Lasse and his son Pelle are among those who have relocated to Denmark in search of work. They find work on a vast farm but are treated like dirt. Pelle begins to speak Danish, yet she continues to be bullied because she is a foreigner. But none of them wants to abandon their hope of a better life than the one they left behind in Sweden.
