Persona Non Grata
The movie is a comedy drama about a young woman named Laura who has alienated herself from her family in the country in order to settle down in Copenhagen as an author and live the artistic bohemian life that she has always dreamed of living. The film takes place in Denmark. When she finally gives in to her family's pressure and travels back to her hometown for her brother's wedding, she is shocked to learn that he is going to wed Catrine, an adversary from her younger years. At the same time, Laura discovers that Catrine has, in reality, usurped her position in the family; and what happens if Laura decides that she wants it back... A movie that explores how, despite our best efforts, we are unable to break free from the ties that bind us to our roots and our history.
