Persuasion
This film adaptation of Jane Austen's final novel concerns Anne Elliot, the daughter of a financially challenged aristocratic family, who is convinced to break her engagement to Frederick Wentworth, a young sea captain of little means. Years later, Anne's father is forced by financial difficulties to rent out the family estate to Admiral Croft, and Anne is reunited with Frederick, who is now wealthy and probably still in love with her.
