Pieces of April

April Burns is a quirky and rebellious young woman who lives with her lover in a low-rent New York City apartment hundreds of miles away from her emotionally distant family. However, when she discovers that her mother is suffering from a deadly form of breast cancer, she invites the entire family to her home for the holiday season. In the meantime, April's father is struggling to get her family into the city, and the young cook is having problems in the kitchen and must seek assistance from a neighbor.
