Qissa
After the partition of India in1947, Umber Singh, a Sikh, is forced to abandon his village because of ethnic cleansing. Qissa is set in post-colonial India and chronicles the narrative of Umber Singh. Umber chooses to defy the odds and erects a brand new house for himself and his loved ones. Kanwar, Umber's eldest son and heir, gets married to Neeli, a girl of lower caste, and the family is confronted with the truth of their identities; as individual aspirations and destinies meet in a conflict with eternity.
