It's 1958 in Hollywood. Marla Mabrey, a pious Baptist virgin and former Miss America, arrives in Los Angeles. At the airport, she meets her driver, Frank Forbes, a profoundly religious Methodist who is engaged to his seventh grade love. Their initial attraction tests their religious beliefs and contradicts Hughes' number one rule: no employee can have any relationship with a contract actress. Hughes' strange behavior challenges Marla and Frank's ideals and changes their life in unforeseen ways.
