The two sons of a very wealthy family are Linus and David Larrabee. Linus has no time for a wife and children, as he is too busy running the family business empire. David is all play — he is nominally employed by the family firm, but he never comes to work, spends all of his time entertaining, and has been married and divorced three times. Meanwhile, Sabrina Fairchild is the young, shy, and awkward daughter of the household chauffeur. She has been in love with David her entire life, but he hardly notices her — "doesn't even know I exist" — until she returns from Paris two years later as an elegant, sophisticated, and beautiful woman. Suddenly, she discovers that she has David's attention, but at the same time, she discovers that she is falling in love with Linus and that he is also falling in love with her.
