Seven Years in Tibet

In 1939, Heinrich Harrer, an Austrian mountaineer, goes to the Himalayas without his family to lead an expedition. But when World War II starts, the cocky Harrer becomes a prisoner of war in the hands of the Allies. He runs away with another prisoner and ends up in Llaso, Tibet, where he meets the 14-year-old Dalai Lama, whose friendship changes his view on life.
