She Wore a Yellow Ribbon

After Custer and the 7th Cavalry are killed by Indians, everyone expects the worst. Captain Nathan Brittles is told to go on patrol, but he also has to take with him the wife of the fort's commanding officer, Abby Allshard, and her niece, the pretty Olivia Dandridge, who are being evacuated for their own safety. Brittles is only a few days away from retiring, and Olivia has caught the attention of two young officers in the Company, Lt. Flint Cohill and 2nd Lt. Ross Pennell. She has been wearing a yellow ribbon in her hair, which is a sign that she has a boyfriend in the Cavalry, but she won't say for whom she is wearing it.
