Silmido
A botched assassination attempt on President Park Chung-hee by 31 North Korean commandos took place on January31,1968, in South Korea. The South Korean military gathered a team of 31 criminals on the island of Silmido to kill Kim Il-sung for a suicide mission to restore their honor, but it was canceled, leaving them disappointed. It is based on a military insurrection that occurred in the 1970s.
