The year is 1990, and Zheng Wei, an 18-year-old college freshman, is full of hope for love as she begins her academic career. She develops strong bonds with her roommates, and the four of them embark on their academic careers as a group in the same year. A accidental encounter brings Wei and Chen Hao-Zheng together, and after some hesitation, Chen eventually accepts Wei as his girlfriend, and the two become inextricably linked. Wei has completed four years of academic life and is looking forward to starting a family with Chen in the near future. Chen, on the other hand, is compelled to make the unthinkable decision to abandon Wei. Wei, who has been devastated, decides to start over. Wei's former lovers Lin and Chen both make their way back into her life a decade later, and she is forced to make a decision about what she wants to do with her life.
