Sonora
1931 was a year marked by rising nationalism and decadent behavior: The Chinese are kicked out of Sonora, and the United States deports Mexicans and closes its borders as a response. Twelve people in a frantic state travel over the Sonoran desert in a 1929 Chrysler in the hopes of finding safety in Baja California. Racism, selfishness, and paranoia all prove to be just as lethal as the harsh environment that surrounds them as their journey reveals the positive and negative sides of human nature.
