Tabu
Matahi and Reri, two teenagers, are in love. Hitu, the aging warrior, declares that Reri is to be the gods' new chosen virgin. This means she must remain unharmed, or she and her lover will be assassinated. However, Matahi kidnaps her and flees with her to a white-ruled island where their gods would be harmless and impotent. Tabu is director F.W. Murnau's final film; he died in a vehicle accident just before the film's release.
