A naive man from the Midwest named JB forms a friendship with a local slacker named KG at Venice Beach, and the two of them go on to form the rock band known as Tenacious D. To become the best band in the world is not an easy task, so they decided to take what they believed to be the answer to their prayers: a miraculous guitar pick that was kept in a rock-and-roll museum some 300 miles away from where they were.
