Those who live in a nameless city "in the year XX" have no way to express themselves any longer. The most common method of exchanging ideas is through the mouth-to-mouth method of communication. All that remains of La Voz's voice is "the voice," a vocalist employed by Mr. TV's one and only television station, who lusts after her. In order to conceal her identity, La Voz dresses in a hooded gown. When she was younger, she had a small boy who was completely blind but still had a voice (although this is kept a secret). An error in delivery causes a friendship to blossom between Tomás and Ana, who live next door.
