The Ballad of Jack and Rose
Jack Slavin is an environmentalist with a heart ailment who lives on an isolated island with his daughter, Rose. Even as he fights against developers who want to build in the region, Jack yearns for greater interaction with other people. His lover Kathleen and her boys Rodney and Thaddius are invited to move in with him, which causes Rose to become furious. Things are challenging for everyone in the house because of intricate family dynamics.
