Remy, a 50-something Montreal college professor, discovers that he has liver cancer in this belated sequel to 'The Decline of the American Empire.' Before he dies, he decides to make amends with his friends and family. He begins by attempting to reconcile with his ex-wife Louise, who requests that their estranged son Sebastian, a wealthy businessman residing in London, return home.
