Baseball players Ben and Mickey are attempting to survive a zombie pandemic in rural Connecticut. They are compelled to form a battery, which consists of a catcher and a pitcher who collaborate to outsmart the batter, the one who hits the ball. And in this case, the batter is a zombie. Ben's toughness and Mickey's gentleness frequently clash over the right course of action. Then, over their walkie-talkies, they hear a human voice. Is salvation, as Mickey believes, close at hand, or is Ben's mistrust justified?
