Kelly Ernswiler is a peculiar young man who has a passion for acting out war scenarios with his pal Bart. Together, the two of them are obsessed with military strategy. Kelly has to cope with a challenging situation at home because his father is a recovering drug addict, which is one of his constant sources of stress. Additionally, dealing with the school bullies is one of Kelly's regular sources of stress. When Kelly develops feelings for Tabby, Bart's attractive older sister who is about to get married, his already difficult life becomes even more so.
