The Big Country
Pat Terrill and her fiance Jim McKay are getting married in the wide open spaces of the West. Because McKay doesn't explain himself, the ranchers don't know who he is. Ranch foreman Steve Leech doesn't like him right away. Her rich father, Major Henry Terrill, is spoiled, selfish, and very strict with Pat. The Major is in a war with a rough-hewn clan led by Rufus Hannassey over watering rights for cattle. Julie Maragon owns the land in question, and both Terrill and Hannassey want to buy it from her.
