Melanie Daniels, a stylish socialite, has a brief affair with an appealing attorney in a San Francisco pet store and, on the spur of the moment, pursues him to his hometown with a gift of lovebirds. However, the bird population explodes upon her presence. The townspeople are suddenly confronted with a tremendous avian onslaught, with the feathered fiends attacking humans all throughout Bodega Bay.
