The Blind Spot
It is the narrative of Jan Verbeek, the unyielding commissioner of the Antwerp narcotics squad, who is depicted in the film Dode Hoek (Blind Spot). Mr. Zero Tolerance, as he is affectionately known, is enormously popular with the public and the media. When he declares that he is leaving the police department just before the elections in order to join the extreme right-wing party, VPV, the country is thrown into chaos. He is not alone. On his last day as a police officer, he leads an investigation that takes him to Charleroi, where a raid on a drug lab puts in motion a chain of unpredictably tragic events that ultimately kill him.
