The Blood Rose

Artist and botanist Frédéric Lansac has an affair with party girl Moira, but dumps her when he meets the attractive Anne. Frédéric and Anne wed, but tragedy strikes when Moira arrives at the reception and causes Anne to tumble into the blaze. Frédéric and Anne barricade themselves in his mansion with his dumb dwarf maids. Anne, as expected, has a sour and demanding disposition. Frédéric informs everyone that Anne has died, then secretly employs a nurse to care for her.
