The Circus

A traveling vagabond named Charlie joins the circus as a handyman and falls in love with the circus owner's daughter. The girl falls in love with an attractive young performer, unaware of Charlie's feelings for her. When Charlie steps in for an injured tightwire walker, his adaptability makes him the star of the show. When he defends the girl from her father's abuse, he is fired from the company, but he returns and begs the handsome performer to marry her. Following the wedding, the father persuades them to return to the circus. When the caravan moves on, Charlie gets employed again, but he stays behind.
