1715 August. Louis XIV develops a discomfort in his leg following a walk. The king continues to fulfill his tasks and commitments during the next few days, but his sleep is disturbed and he has a severe fever. He consumes little food and continues to deteriorate in strength. This is the beginning of the gradual pain of France's greatest king, accompanied by his relatives and physicians.
