The Dresser

It was on a fateful night during World War II in an English village theater that a troop of touring performers put on Shakespeare's King Lear. The theater is ablaze with explosions and sirens, but the actor/manager Sir, who is supposed to be playing King Lear, is nowhere to be found. His costumer Norman is scrambling to keep the show going, but will Sir arrive in time and will he be able to perform that night if he does? One of the best movies of the year, The Dresser is a heartwarming tale of friendship and loyalty as Sir ponders the accomplishments of his life and attempts to mend fences with those who work for him.
