The Eagle

Marcus Aquila (Tatum), a young centurion, arrives in Scotland in the year 140 AD from Rome with the intention of solving the mystery surrounding the disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland twenty years earlier. His mission is to restore the honor of his father, who served as the commander of the Ninth Legion. Marcus, accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Bell), travels beyond Hadrian's Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia. His goals are to confront the barbaric tribes that live there, make peace with the memory of his deceased father, and retrieve the golden emblem of the lost legion, the Eagle of the Ninth.
