The Empty Hours

Aarón Fernández's second film is a co-production between Spain, Mexico, and France, and it was already screened as part of Films in Progress at the Festival's 60th edition. On the desolate coast of Veracruz, young Sebastián, 17, is forced to run his uncle's motel on his own, renting rooms by the hour. That's how he meets Miranda, a regular customer who comes there to wait for a lover who is frequently late, sparking a brief game of seduction between the two.
