The Final Countdown

In 1980, the USS Nimitz, the most powerful warship in the US Navy, is caught in a storm while doing routine maneuvers in the Pacific. The ship is surrounded by a strange green light and goes through a vortex. When they come out, they can't talk to each other anymore. The ship's captain sends out a patrol, and the F-14 pilots are shocked to run into old Japanese warplanes.
