François Delambre, an industrialist, receives a late-night phone call from his sister-in-law, Helene Delambre, who informs him that she has just killed her husband, André. She explains to the cops, reluctantly at first, that André invented a matter transportation apparatus and that, while experimenting on himself, a fly entered the chamber during the matter transference.
