The Fundamentals of Caring

Ben becomes a caregiver to make money after suffering a catastrophe. Trevor, a witty 18-year-old with muscular dystrophy, is his first client. Ben and Trevor set off on a road journey through the western states, one emotionally immobilized and the other physically paralyzed. The people they meet along the route will help them put their survival skills to the test outside of their planned existence. They learn the value of optimism and the necessity of true friendship while working together.
