Luther Heggs has always had the dream of working for the local newspaper in his tiny town. When the editor asks him to spend the night at the Simmons estate, which, 20 years earlier, was the location of a now-famous murder-suicide, he receives his big break and becomes successful in his field. Simmons sues Luther for libel after hearing his description of the crazy night he spent in the house, which he claims was plagued by ghosts. However, with the help of Luther's friend Kelsey, they are able to piece together what actually took place.
