The Harder They Come
It is after some initial difficulties that Ivanhoe Martin is offered a recording contract to be a reggae singer in Kingston, Jamaica, and after some time in the city he finds job. A bitter quarrel with a dishonest producer named Hilton causes him to turn to crime for money, so he records his first song "The Harder They Come" and soon finds himself needing money. Local folklore has elevated him to the stature of a pot-smoking, cop-killing legend. In the meantime, his album is at the top of the charts.
