The House on Carroll Street

After declining to reveal names to a 1951 House Un-American Activities Committee, Emily Crane becomes a part-time companion to an elderly woman. One day, she hears a loud quarrel in German in a neighboring house, especially since her primary senator prosecutor is involved. She gradually enlists the support of FBI officer Cochran, who was initially assigned to investigate her. Just as well when things get nasty.
