Amanda asked her son John on her deathbed to burn all of the lab notebooks and other materials from her final experiment. He had a brother, she adds in a rash manner. At the funeral, John meets Melissa, who introduces herself as his mother's biggest supporter. They visit Amanda's house with some of John's pals, but none is ready for what they discover there.
