The King's Speech

George V, the man who would become King George VI and father of Queen Elizabeth II, is the subject of the biopic The King's Speech. George (known as "Bertie") unwillingly accepts the kingdom after his brother abdicates. A speech therapist named Lionel Logue is hired to help Bertie overcome his impediment and become king. An odd alliance, along with an unconventional strategy, helps Bertie find his voice and courageously lead the country into war.
