The Laramie Project
A story about the aftermath of the murder of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard that takes place in and around Laramie, Wyoming, is told in "The Laramie Project." A group of eight members from New York's Tectonic Theatre Project traveled to Laramie, Wyoming, where they conducted hours of interviews with the town's residents over a two-year period in order to create the stage adaptation of "The Laramie Project." The film version dramatizes the troupe's visit, drawing on the real words from the transcripts to paint a portrayal of a community compelled to confront itself in the process.
