It wasn't long ago that William Freise-Greene was a totally different man. He's now old, sick, destitute, and mostly forgotten. So that his photographic portrait work, for which he was so well known, would sound more impressive, William Green, then a youthful and gorgeous young man, altered his name to incorporate the maiden name of his first wife. Despite this, he was also an innovator, and his quest to find a technique to display moving images became a passion that impacted the lives of others he cared about deeply.
