The Ninth
Petersburg at the turn of the century was awash in occultism and esotericism. On tour in Moscow, British medium Olivia Reed draws large crowds for her public spiritualistic meetings. During this historical period, the city is plagued by unexplained ritual murders. Girls are kidnapped on the street and their mutilated remains found all over the city. Rostov, a young cop, and Ganin, his partner, are investigating the murder. With each new victim, the situation worsens. In the belief that her true or imagined capacity to conjure the spirits of the dead may help him catch the killer, Rostov turns to Olivia.
