The Other Tom

Elena is a welfare-dependent single mother. Tom is stigmatized at school as a "problem child" due to his disciplinary troubles. Their already complex connection is further complicated by the father's absence. Tom is diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and prescribed psychiatric medication, but a peculiar accident alerts his mother to the potential adverse effects of the prescription. Social Services threatens to remove Tom from his mother if she refuses to continue giving him his medications.
