A high school diploma is almost in reach for Denny Burke. Breaking a limb, breaking a heart, and, worst of all, breaking my family have all occurred during my senior year. As a final test of his maturity, Denny takes a rock-climbing excursion with his four closest pals. During their trip, the five teenagers acquire a genetic boost that they'd never imagined. It won't be long before Denny has to make the first major life decision of his adulthood: do these powers go with him, or do he maintain them...and become extinct from the human race?
