The Proposition

The film is set in the Australian outback in the 1880s and chronicles the events after the purported rape and murder of the Hopkins family by the notorious Burns brothers gang. Captain Morris Stanley catches Charlie Burns and instructs him nine days to kill his older psychopathically dangerous brother, or his intellectually retarded younger brother will be executed on Christmas Day.
