Joshua Lazarus (Nick Stahl) is a telepath who was reared in a National Security Agency foster household. Lazarus lends a hand to the government by utilizing his talents. In response, the agency informs him that the telepathy is a side effect of Widmann's Disease and that he will eventually go insane and die as a result of the condition. However, Lazarus comes across a lady (Taryn Manning) who possesses comparable abilities but does not appear to be suffering from the disease, prompting Lazarus to confront the lies he has been told.
