A heinous murder occurs in Hong Kong in 1978. Eight years later, children discover the severed hands of a new victim on a Macao beach. Wong Chi Hang, the new owner of Eight Immortals Restaurant, which serves delicious pork bao, is investigated by a squadron of coarse, happy-go-lucky cops. The hands belong to the restaurant's former owner's missing mother; he and his family have vanished; restaurant employees continue to go missing; and Wong is unable to produce a signed bill of sale: but there is no evidence.
