Terry Wolfmeyer is left to fend for herself and her four daughters after her husband runs off with his secretary. Terry finds a friend and drinking companion in her next-door neighbor Denny, a former baseball player, as she reaches rock bottom. Terry begins to have doubts about their relationship as the two grow closer and her daughters rely more on Denny.
