The Wild Heart
Following a legal battle between director Michael Powell and producer David O. Selznick, the film Gone to Earth (1950) was re-edited. The following are the primary alterations made by Selznick:- Incorporating a prologue. Adding scenes that explain things, usually by using labels or inscriptions. Increasing the number of close-ups of Jennifer Jones. He also cut a few sequences he didn't think were emotional enough. Unfortunately, several of these were significant plot pieces, and the story no longer makes as much sense as it did before.
